Hawwi Sari Laut in North Sumatra

"The place is a bit hidden, from Jl. Iskandar Muda you must turn to a pretty narrow street. Food's fantastic, especially the chili crab, the crab's big and it was the best one I've ever tasted. The place ambience is just like a usual Chinese restaurant, but it does have a relatively large space and it's clean. The down side, you won't see any price on the menu so you might be surprised by the bill. To give an idea, a plate of crab is IDR270K, rice IDR8K, prawn/shrimp (about 8pcs) IDR130K, scallop (not the fancy one) IDR60K. Overall, it's a bit on the pricy side but worth trying! I would go there again."

"An amazing little place with a stunning variety of fresh seafood. Their rock crab is definitely a must-have, served in a rich gravy. The fried eel is delicious as well as their steamed whole fish options. In addition to seafood they have some very tasty vegetable options as well to round out the meal in addition to the ubiquitous white rice offerings. Decor is very simple. On an afternoon the AC was either not on or not working very well. Staff were friendly though it was clear they weren't used to bule coming by for lunch. Although this is not the cheapest seafood in Medan it's a welcome change in that not everything is fried! Highly recommended."

"The crabs are really good. Meat is so fresh and firm and the chilli sauce with eggs is tasty. The way they crack the crab shell makes it easy to get to the meat. Something which I appreciate especially as a crab meat lover! A little costly at 600rp/kg. But yummy !"

Served either in padang's sauce / blackpepper / steamed only. Also thier clams, but i didn't ordered this. Overall the food is fresh, served well, and delicious. Notes: the crab cost +- 630k /kg (Jan 2023) We ordered 3kgs served in 2 sauces (padang & blackpepper)"

The other famous dish is their blood cockles and this restaurant serves them big! Their pineapple chilli sauce is very unique but not spicy enough for me. Food - 7 Service - 7 Vibe - 6 Price - $$$$"
